The LTE connection on the Meter Controller is for management purposes only. The connection would not be able to provide enough bandwidth for normal business operations. Meter cannot temporarily allow business operations over the LTE connection in the event of an ISP failure.
“Management” generally refers to Meter Support and/or Meter Engineering making Command Line connections to the Meter Controller to troubleshoot any issues with ISP connections.
The Meter Controller can utilize two ISP connections and it is generally recommended 2 ISPs are used in case there is an ISP outage. Please visit https://connect.meter.com/ or contact Meter Support to route your request if you are considering adding an ISP.
