What is SSO?
Meter offers Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication method to allow users to access the Meter Dashboard. For organizations, integrating SSO with the Meter Dashboard simplifies user access management and enhances security. With SSO, organizations can enforce centralized access control policies, making it easier to manage permissions and ensure only authorized users have access to the Dashboard. Additionally, it streamlines onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring quick and secure access to the Dashboard, while maintaining compliance and reducing IT overhead.
How to Configure SSO
- Log in at dashboard.meter.com
- Navigate to Settings on the left sidebar
- Under Settings > Authentication > SSO, click on Configure

- This will generate a Setup page link that can be used to configure SSO
- Click on Open
- On the Setup page, please select your Identity Provider and follow the steps to complete the setup
- You can also set it up using Custom SAML or Custom OIDC
Common Issues
User is not assigned to this application
If a user attempts to log in to the Meter Dashboard and receives an error from the SSO provider similar to "User is not assigned to this application," this means the Meter Dashboard has not been assigned to their SSO profile. Please reach out to your SSO provider for help with this.
